Jesus, the Prince of Peace… (John 20:24-31) 250907
I believe that the term doubting Thomas came from this passage because he asked to put his finger into the place of the nails, so that he might believe that Christ had risen (v25). And of course he did it later (v27). From church history, we alluded that this apostle took the gospel seriously and went all the way to North India.
Thomas doubted, but Jesus message was the same: Peace be with you. Thomas doubted because he thought that he was being betrayed by the Lord, he doubted because he had fear in him, and he doubted because he did not have the peace of God.
Yesterday, I attended a funeral, the topic of peace was being mentioned. Peace is not the absence of fear, or the absence of war or conflict, or the absence of doubts, but it is the presence of God, the Lord Jesus Christ.
I am thankful that God granted me His peace when I am journeying through some difficult moments with my love one in my family. Though the emotional connection seems to make it difficult for me to be rational to help, but I know that His peace is with me, His presence is with me as I even walk though the valley of shadow of death. I believe in Jesus. He is with me.
Do you also have doubts, questions, fears, uncertainties, or even conflicts within you? Do you need peace? You need Jesus. He is still the Prince of Peace.
