Do you believe? (John 4:46-54) 220207

That day I was talking to my father about my uncle, his brother, who had a fall on the first day of Lunar New Year. In my father’s view, my mother does not like to mention about his family members because they had treated her unfairly all these years. My mother did confess that she was very bitter against them, but since she accepted Christ, she said that her attitude towards them began to change. I thank God for that. My father was very worried and concerned for his siblings. He grew up in a family of seven siblings, three of my uncles had passed away already, and now he only left a brother and two sisters, all no married. I could see tears welled up in his eyes when he spoke of his brother who had a fall. He is not young, in his late 50s, without a family. My heart felt compassionate towards my uncle.

I don’t know how can I help, perhaps my visit to my uncle will comfort my father and bring joy to my uncle and aunts. But I know that what they really need is Christ in their lives! How can I bring Christ to them? I sense that I am like the royal official begging Jesus, saying, "Lord, come down and touch my uncle, aunts and my father and let them come to know You before anything happen to them!" (v49)

These two days, I have been praying for them. I have been praying that God will give me the courage to visit them and share Christ with them. I have always think that I am strong in my dialect and mandarin, I can pray and preach in mandarin, I can interpret from English to Chinese and Chinese to English; but I dare not share the Gospel with them.

Jesus replied the royal official to go his way and his son lives (v50). What amazed me was that the royal official really believed and started off (v50). Do I have such faith? Do I believe in Jesus to that extend? Where is my faith?

Do you believe? Do you believe that Jesus will do a miracle in your life and in thelives of your love ones? I know that many of us have family members, relatives and even love ones have not known Christ as Savior. Have you been praying for them? Do you believe that God will do a miracle for you? When He says so, do you believe and just start off this journey of faith?

The journey of faith is rough and tough. But God is faithful to walk along side with us. He will strengthed us when we are weak. He will encourage us when we are downcast. He will carry us when we faced our enemies. All we need is to cling on to Him through His Words and believe in Him.
