Wait for the Lord (Isaiah 40:27-31)

I am tired. I am weary. I am sleepy. I need sleep.
Sometimes, I wonder why am I doing certain thing when I can do other thing. Do you? I should be revising for my quiz now, but I am doing and writing my devotion. I should be doing my assignment yesterday afternnon, but I played volleyball with other collegemates. I wanted to go for a swim and then enjoyed some coffee on Monday afternnon, but I have to study Greek. What am I doing? Does God knows what I am doing? Is He going to reward me or help me is someway?

Do you have similar experience? Why must do BAG homework when you can spend that half an hour to watch some TV programs, mark or do some assignements, or simply sleep or rest? Even when you have toiled and worked hard at work or study, you don’t seem to get your well-deserved rewards. It seems to be so unfair. Is God just? Does He see us at work? Does He hear our cries when we are praying for a new job or better working environment or even life partner? Are we being forgotten by God?

No!. This passage reminds us that our God is the Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth (v28). He cares for us. He gives strength to the weary, and increase power for those who lacks might (v29). Though sometimes we may grow weary and tired and even stumble badly (v30), He is there to renew our strength so that we may gain new strength, soar again in our career and study, run the race of lives with strength and stamina, and walk through difficult times with faith and confident of God’s company and presence. The formula? Wait for the Lord (v31).

Have you waited upon the Lord today? Take sometime to wait upon Him and let Him renew you and refresh you. To have intimacy time with the Lord is better than any supplements and tonic. I can testify that.
